From September 8 to 10, volunteers from South Korea directly painted the walls of four houses before they were completed and handed over to poor families in Hien Luong Commune, Phu Tho Province.
This activity is part of the project “Financial Support for Eliminating Makeshift and Dilapidated Houses and Volunteer Work”, initiated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Korea-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Center (KCCC), with funding mobilized from Incheon International Airport Corporation. The total sponsorship amounted to VND 592 million.
A representative of Incheon International Airport Corporation presented funding for house construction to the four families.
The families selected for the project were carefully chosen by the People’s Committee of Hien Luong Commune. All belonged to poor households. Notably, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong is a war veteran, and his wife is disabled. Each household received VND 130 million for house construction, along with additional support for wall painting expenses.
South Korean volunteers painted the walls for families participating in the project.
This project, mobilized by the Phu Tho Department of Foreign Affairs, actively responds to the emulation movement “Phu Tho Joining Hands with the Whole Country to Eliminate Makeshift and Dilapidated Houses in 2025.” It also serves as a testament to the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the people of South Korea and Vietnam, contributing to the richness of people-to-people diplomacy between the two nations.
