On August 27, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations organized a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (1976–2026). On August 6, 1976, Vietnam and Thailand officially established diplomatic relations; by May 2025, the relationship was upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In 2026, both nations continue to concrete this new relational framework through the Action Program to Implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2026–2031 period. Within this framework, special emphasis is placed on connecting supply chains, connecting businesses and localities, and aligning green growth and sustainable development strategies.
Over the past period, Phu Tho province has made clear marks in cooperative ties with Thai partners. Phu Tho coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Vietnam to host the “Meet Thailand in Phu Tho” program. Consequently, several major Thai corporations and enterprises expressed desires to expand investments in Phu Tho, viewing it as a long-term cooperation opportunity.
Currently, Thai enterprises have invested over 400 million USD in Phu Tho, concentrating on key sectors such as processing, manufacturing, industrial park infrastructure development, trade, and services. These operations contribute to job creation, drive economic restructuring, expand production and trade networks, and deepen bilateral ties.

A cultural performance exchange rich in the cultural flavors of both nations.
Moving forward, the Phu Tho Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association will continue to promote solidarity, progressively serving as a hub for friendship, information exchange, and cooperation opportunities between Phu Tho and Thai partners—making practical contributions to the province’s socio-economic development.
