Nearly 5,500 Billion VND Invested to Upgrade Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital into a Regional Hub

In strict execution of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 72, Phu Tho Province will extensively upgrade and develop the Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital into a fully functional regional-level healthcare hub by 2030. The projected aggregate investment capital pool stands at 5,496 billion VND. The designated construction and modernization footprint will span over 96,000 square kilometers, integrating two existing sub-zones of the current hospital grounds alongside the entire campus land fund reclaimed from the Food Industry College.

Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital deploys Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)—one of the world’s most advanced radiation therapy techniques today—fully operationalized on the state-of-the-art VERSA HD linear accelerator system.

Currently commanding a massive scale of 2,000 beds, the Provincial General Hospital is aggressively advancing its flagship, high-end specialty disciplines, including cardiovascular medicine, stroke management, intensive care medicine (ICU), neurosurgery, organ transplantation, and geriatrics. The medical center is structurally evolving into a model smart hospital, integrating total digital transformation pipelines, Artificial Intelligence (AI) diagnostics, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), telemedicine platforms, and synchronized regional healthcare data-interoperability networks.

Upon the completion of this capital expansion, the hospital will possess a highly synchronized, continuous architectural infrastructure, cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, and a contingent of elite medical personnel. These milestones will empower the facility to supply comprehensive, multi-disciplinary medical services on par with the most prestigious national hospitals, accelerating the modernization of Phu Tho’s healthcare ecosystem toward seamless regional and international integration.

Concurrently, this mega-medical hub will function as a top-tier, high-quality clinical training and practical residency base for national and provincial medical universities and health science academies.
