On the evening of March 29 (the 1st day of the 3rd lunar month in the Year of the Snake 2025), the grand opening ceremony of the Hung Kings Festival and The Fatherland Culture - Tourism Week 2025 was held at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee of Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary and The Fatherland Culture - Tourism Week 2025, emphasized: "For generations, in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, the Hung Kings are the National Ancestors who founded the first state of the Vietnamese people, and they are the common ancestors of the Vietnamese nation. Every citizen is proud to carry the bloodline of ‘Lac Hong descendants."
The worship of the Hung Kings has become a cultural identity, a traditional moral value of the Vietnamese people, expressing the deep gratitude of generations of descendants for the ancestors' contributions to the founding and protection of the nation. Worshipping the Hung Kings is not just a spiritual activity, asking for their blessings for peace and prosperity, but it also carries a profound meaning, reminding and connecting the Vietnamese people, strengthening solidarity, love, and mutual support among the diverse ethnic communities of Vietnam, all sharing the same origin.
As part of the Hung Kings Festival and The Fatherland Culture - Tourism Week this year, Phu Tho Province organized a series of unique cultural, sports, and tourism events. Among them, the art program themed “Echoes of the Ancestral Origins” was a key highlight, offering not only impressive performances but also serving as a bridge linking the past with the present, the origins with the nation’s development. The melodies and lyrics of “Echoes of the Ancestral Origins” deeply reflect national spirit, stirring the love for the homeland and the country, and bringing every Vietnamese person back to their sacred roots.
The Fatherland Culture and Tourism Week is also an opportunity for Phu Tho province to introduce both domestic and international visitors to the unique beauty of the homeland: the sacred Hung Kings Temple; the rustic Xoan singing; the vast Long Coc tea hills; the relaxing Thanh Thuy hot springs; the majestic Xuan Son National Park; and the poetic Ao Gioi - Suoi Tien... All of these come together to create a vibrant natural and cultural landscape that captivates the heart.
The Hung Kings Festival and The Fatherland Culture and Tourism Week this year is being held from March 29 to April 7 (from the 1st to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month in the Year of the Snake), with a provincial-scale program that includes joyful and healthy activities closely connected with cultural, sports, and tourism events, reflecting the unique cultural identity of the Fatherland region. People not only witness activities to honor and pay tribute to the Hung Kings but also get to experience and participate in many distinctive activities such as traditional festivals, cultural events, and lively sports tournaments...
