Decorating homes with flowers during the Lunar New Year is an indispensable tradition. Among various flowers, orchids are often the top choice due to their luxurious appearance and long-lasting beauty. Currently, a moth orchid (Phalaenopsis) garden with more than 20,000 plants owned by Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh's family in Neighborhood 1, Thanh Mieu Ward (formerly Song Lo Commune), has begun to bloom, ready for the market for the Year of the Horse 2026.

After nearly a year of meticulous care, the garden—featuring various species and brilliant colors—is expected to supply over 20,000 plants to the market for the 2026 Lunar New Year.

According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, the orchid garden, spanning over 2,000 square meters, has been cultivated for many years. Combining high-tech applications, a greenhouse system, temperature and humidity control, and the installation of modern equipment such as automatic irrigation, air conditioning, and ventilation fans, the flowers thrive.

The orchid varieties are carefully selected. For tissue-cultured orchids, the breeds must be prepared two years in advance, while pre-potted varieties require preparation one year before sale.

Various orchid types, such as Mini Treasure, Mini Lantern, Pearl Red, Apple Yellow, Cherry Red, Treasure Pink, and Anna Pink, are in full bloom and ready for this year’s Tet season.

With just over a month until the 2026 Lunar New Year, Mr. Thanh’s family is busy to prepare the orchids for sale.

The owner shared that each orchid plant is currently priced at the garden from 150,000 VND to 220,000 VND.

Customers have the opportunity to select their favorite pots and flower varieties directly at the garden.

Leaders of Thanh Mieu Ward visited Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh’s orchid garden and recognized it as a highly effective model. This model opens up prospects for building and expanding agricultural practices that adapt to climate change and enhance local agricultural productivity.
