After 6 days of exciting competition at the 1st China-ASEAN Wushu Championship 2024, the Vietnamese Wushu team, primarily composed of athletes from Phu Tho, delivered an impressive performance, winning 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals.
The tournament took place from November 1 to 7, 2024, in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, China, with over 260 athletes from Vietnam, China, Hong Kong (China), and ASEAN countries and territories participating. The Phu Tho Wushu team consisted of 2 coaches and 5 male and female athletes who represented Vietnam in Taolu (forms) events.
At the end of the tournament, the Vietnamese Wushu team earned 9 medals in total. The 2024 World Champion Nguyen Khac Le Hoang secured 2 Gold Medals in Men’s Taijiquan and Taiji Sword; athlete Chu Thi Ngoc Thu won 1 Gold Medal in Women’s Cudgel; and Nguyen Quynh Phuong earned 2 Silver Medals in Women’s Taijiquan and Taiji Sword, along with 4 Bronze Medals in events: Men’s Taijiquan 24 Forms, Men’s Taiji Sword 32 Forms, Women’s Taijiquan 24 Forms, and Women’s Taiji Sword 32 Forms.
