On November 4, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent an official letter to the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province, requesting approval for the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to coordinate with the VFF in organizing matches for the Timor Leste national football team in the 2024 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup.
Due to the inadequacy of their domestic stadiums to meet international match standards, the Timor Leste Football Federation will use Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho Province as their home ground to host two group-stage matches: against Thailand on December 8 at 8:00 PM and against Singapore on December 14 at 5:45 PM, both in the 2024 AFF Cup. Previously, the Timor Leste team had also rented Chonburi Stadium in Thailand for their Play-off match against Brunei.
With Viet Tri Stadium selected as one of the hosting venues, Vietnam will have two locations for the 2024 AFF Cup: My Dinh Stadium, which will host Vietnam’s national team matches, and Viet Tri Stadium, which will host Timor Leste’s matches.
