On the morning of May 30, at the Vinh Phuc Sports Arena, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism solemnly opened the 2026 Phu Tho Province Vovinam Club Championship.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism present commemorative flags to the participating clubs.
This year’s championship draws the participation of nearly 100 athletes hailing from 17 Vovinam clubs across the province, locking horns for 24 sets of medals. The tournament offers a prime platform for martial artists to exchange experiences, elevate their technical expertise, and sharpen their competitive edge. Concurrently, it serves as a baseline for authorities to evaluate the development of the Vovinam training movement across various local jurisdictions and units.

Through the event, organizers aim to continuously drive forward the national campaign “All people exercise their bodies following the example of the great Uncle Ho,” actively contributing to enhancing public health and enriching the spiritual lives of the citizenry. Crucially, the championship acts as a talent pipeline to detect, scout, and recruit outstanding athletes to represent the province in upcoming regional and national arenas.
Immediately following the opening ceremony, the arena heated up with spirited, high-octane bouts. The competitors delivered captivating matches, fully embodying the spirit of solidarity, integrity, and the noble martial artistry (tinh thần thượng võ) of Vovinam—the Vietnamese traditional martial art.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 2, 2026.
