He emphasized that this meaningful event was a concrete outcome of discussions and exchanges between the two sides in March 2026. Commending the close coordination among the Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee in organizing the “Thailand Connect in Phu Tho 2026” Program, Secretary Pham Dai Duong noted that 2026 marks a particularly significant milestone as Vietnam and Thailand celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations.
He highlighted that the official visit to Thailand by General Secretary and State President To Lam in late May 2026 opened up new directions for cooperation and created strong momentum for elevating bilateral relations to a more substantive and effective stage of development.
In addition, the official visit to Vietnam by Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul earlier this month further demonstrated the determination of both countries’ leaders to deepen the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
During high-level meetings and exchanges, leaders of the two countries agreed to strengthen political trust, promote the “Three Connects” strategy, and enhance cooperation in trade, investment, logistics, tourism, agriculture, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green economy, and sustainable development.

Phu Tho is currently focusing on attracting investment into key sectors, including smart urban development, green growth, logistics services, science and technology, commerce, high-tech agriculture, and sustainable tourism. These are areas in which Thai enterprises and corporations possess considerable expertise and experience.
Representatives of Thai corporations and businesses affirmed their commitment to further promoting trade and investment activities and bringing more Thai investors to Phu Tho in the future.
Secretary Pham Dai Duong expressed his hope that Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya would continue serving as an effective bridge, introducing major Thai investors to explore opportunities and successfully implement projects in the province.
He voiced confidence that, through the spirit of mutual development and close cooperation, the “Thailand Connect in Phu Tho 2026” Program would open a new chapter of practical collaboration, deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of bilateral relations.

Based on practical studies and previous working sessions, Thailand has consistently regarded Phu Tho as one of its most promising partners for cooperation and investment, which was a key reason behind the organization of this large-scale connectivity program.
The Ambassador highly praised the province’s public governance capacity, noting that Phu Tho remains among the top five localities nationwide in economic governance quality and ranks second in Vietnam in terms of access to resources.
She expressed strong confidence that Thai businesses would find a safe, transparent, and highly favorable investment environment in the province. The success of Thai enterprises already operating in Phu Tho serves as compelling evidence of this.
The Ambassador also expressed her expectation that Phu Tho would continue to provide the best possible conditions for promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and between the Thai business community and the province.
