On June 19, the Phu Tho Vietnam–UK Friendship Association held its First Congress for the 2026–2031 term. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam, Full-time Member of the National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee and Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Vietnam–UK Friendship Association, along with representatives from several provincial departments and agencies.
During the previous term, the Vietnam–UK Friendship Association carried out various people-to-people diplomacy activities, cultural and educational exchanges, investment and trade promotion programs, and social welfare initiatives, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.

Leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs presented flowers to congratulate the First Congress of the Phu Tho Vietnam–UK Friendship Association for the 2026–2031 term.
Numerous English teaching and learning programs, competitions, and educational promotion activities were organized, creating a positive impact among students and the wider community.
Following the merger of the former provinces of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Hoa Binh into the new Phu Tho Province, the Association was further consolidated and expanded its scope of activities, continuing to serve effectively as a bridge for people-to-people diplomacy and international integration.
Speaking at the Congress, delegates emphasized the importance of further promoting the Association’s role in people-to-people diplomacy and strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the United Kingdom and other English-speaking countries.

For the 2026–2031 term, the Association aims to expand its membership network, enhance investment promotion efforts, foster cultural and educational exchanges, and promote English-language learning, thereby contributing to more effective international integration and the promotion of Phu Tho Province’s image to international friends and partners.
With the spirit of “Friendship – Solidarity – Development,” the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Phu Tho Vietnam–UK Friendship Association for the 2026–2031 term, consisting of 27 members. Mr. Hoang Van Huan was elected President of the Association for the 2026–2031 term.
