On March 24, at Saigon - Phu Tho Hotel, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, held a press conference to discuss the organization of the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament.
This year’s tournament will take place from April 3 to April 6 at the Phu Tho Provincial Sports Training and Competition Hall, featuring the top eight men’s and women’s volleyball teams from the first round of the National Volleyball Championship, which concludes on March 31. For the first time, the Hung Vuong Cup has an official sponsor, resulting in a threefold increase in prize money compared to previous seasons. The champion team will receive VND 200 million, while the runner-up, third-place, and consolation teams will receive VND 150 million, VND 100 million, and VND 70 million, respectively.
At the press conference, the leadership of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism emphasized that preparations for the competition venue and spectator stands are well underway. New installations include an LED screen at Stand D for real-time match statistics and information, as well as the Challenge Eyes video review system for fair and transparent officiating. These enhancements aim to provide an engaging experience for audiences and leave a positive impression on visitors to the ancestral homeland.
At the press conference, delegates addressed questions, recommendations, and proposals from representatives of central and local media agencies regarding technical issues, tournament organization, and media coverage.
According to the organizers, all matches of the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament will be streamed live on digital platforms to reach audiences across the country and internationally. Regarding ticket sales, the organizing committee will issue official notices to provincial departments, agencies, and local authorities for bulk ticket orders. Additionally, tickets will be available for direct purchase at the main gate of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Hall from April 3 to April 6, with prices set at VND 100,000 for Stands A and B and VND 80,000 for other sections.
