On October 24, in Phu Tho Province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism held the summary and award ceremony for the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.
After 4 months of launching and implementation, the preliminary round of the contest attracted 1,686,865 students from nearly 9,200 educational institutions. In the final round, the organizers received 517 outstanding entries from the preliminary round. The organizers assessed that this year’s contest had many breakthroughs, with numerous well-invested entries that were of high quality both in content and presentation. These entries had significant educational value and positive effects on viewers; many creative, unique, and innovative ideas were proposed to encourage students, young people, and the public to read books. Many touching stories and great books were shared. Some contest videos included sign language and English subtitles to enhance the spread of the messages encouraging people to read.
At the ceremony, the organizers awarded 15 collective prizes to units with excellent organization of the preliminary round, 4 titles of Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassadors, 8 First Prizes, 16 Second Prizes, 32 Third Prizes, 64 Consolation Prizes, and Special Topic Prizes for the best entries. Phu Tho province proudly received 2 collective awards: the Provincial Library won the prize for “Best Organization of the Preliminary Round,” and the Dinh Tien Hoang Primary School received the prize for "Most Participants." Nguyen Hai Au, a student from the 11th-grade History class at Hung Vuong Gifted High School, was named an Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, a 10th-grade student from Thanh Thuy High School in Thanh Thuy district, won the Third Prize.
