On November 13, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially sent Official Dispatch No. 2392/LĐBĐVN-TCTĐ requesting the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province to consider and approve the assignment of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to coordinate with VFF to organize the matches of the Vietnam National Team within the framework of the qualifying round of the 2024 Mitsubishi Electric Cup Southeast Asian Football Championship (AFF Cup 2024).
Viet Tri Stadium is ready to successfully organize the matches of the Vietnam National Team at the AFF Cup 2024.
VFF would like to thank the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province for always supporting and creating conditions for the successful organization of international football matches and tournaments with the participation of Vietnam U-teams at Viet Tri Stadium in the past. Since the matches of the Vietnam National Team in the Group Stage of the AFF Cup 2024 will not be held at My Dinh Stadium and with the approval of the Southeast Asian Football Federation, VFF respectfully requests the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province to agree and support the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in organizing the two matches of the Vietnam National Team at Viet Tri Stadium against the Indonesia Team at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 and against the Myanmar Team also at 8:00 p.m. on December 21. At the same time, pay attention to upgrading the lighting system at the training ground of the Provincial Sports Complex, Bai Bang Stadium, to ensure professional requirements to serve the training of the teams.
The Vietnam National Team, with many stars, will compete at Viet Tri Stadium at the AFF Cup 2024.
With the national team competing at Viet Tri Stadium at the AFF Cup 2024, the matches of the Timor Leste National Team will be moved to Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi. This is the first time the Vietnam National Team has competed at Viet Tri Stadium, where nearly 20,000 fans have become solid support for the U-teams of the Vietnam National Team to compete very successfully, with the highlight being the successful defense of the Gold Medal in Men’s Football at SEA Games 31 right on home ground.
