Three-Phase Restoration Strategy The project to repair Song Lo Bridge has a total investment of over 74.2 billion VND, fully funded by the Urban and Industrial Development Investment JSC (UDIDECO). The technical focus is on reinforcing the foundation systems of piers T1 through T8 by adding bored piles, expanding pier caps, and strengthening structural connections to ensure long-term load-bearing capacity and safety.

Overview of Song Lo Bridge currently under repair and restoration.
The repair work is divided into three phases. Phase 1 (until April 30, 2026) focuses on completing all bored piles, as well as reinforcing and expanding the caps for piers T3 and T6. Upon completion, an interim inspection and acceptance will be proposed to allow limited traffic (passenger cars and pedestrians), helping to alleviate traffic pressure for local residents.
Phase 2 will involve repairing the land-based piers, including T1, T2, T7, and T8, once the T3 and T6 pier groups have stabilized. Phase 3 will be carried out for the remaining two piers, T4 and T5, during the next dry season to ensure absolute safety during construction.

Currently, construction is underway at piers T3 and T6; however, the pace is lagging behind the Provincial People’s Committee’s directives. After the field inspection, Vice Chairman Quach Tat Liem requested the contractor to mobilize additional machinery, equipment, and manpower. He emphasized the need to accelerate progress to complete designated items before the 2026 flood season.
The Vice Chairman also demanded synchronized traffic safety solutions throughout the construction process, especially with the rainy season approaching. He tasked the Department of Construction with increasing inspections and promptly resolving any bottlenecks.
