Mr. Bui Duy Linh – Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment – calling on citizens to join hands in protecting, regenerating, and developing aquatic resources.

Immediately following the ceremony, officials, local authorities, monks, and Buddhists released more than 3 tons of various seed fish into the reservoir. This annual activity is a key part of the province’s long-term plan to protect and develop the aquatic ecosystem of the Hoa Binh Lake area.

The release of seed fish aims not only to restore natural aquatic stocks but also to introduce new species, protecting the ecological environment and biodiversity of the reservoir.

Beyond environmental benefits, the activity serves to raise community awareness about the vital role of aquatic resources. It encourages residents to engage in aquaculture and fishing practices that are harmonized with environmental protection, thereby creating sustainable livelihoods and promoting the local fishery industry.

In recent years, the protection and replenishment of aquatic resources have consistently received high priority from all levels of government and the public. Utilizing both state budget and socialized resources, the province has organized 15 fish release phases, totaling dozens of tons of fish. These efforts have targeted major water bodies including: the lake system in the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site, Hoa Binh Lake, Canh Tang Lake, and Van Lang Park Lake, Dam Vac Lake and the Red and Lo River systems.

Along with the release activity, functional units delivered a message calling for collective responsibility: every citizen must act as a steward to protect, regenerate, and develop our aquatic wealth for future generations.
