Phu Tho Accompanies Successful Organization of AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers

On September 11, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent a letter of appreciation to the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial police, and other local agencies for their strong support and effective coordination throughout the organization of Group C – AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, meeting the strict standards set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The VFF expressed gratitude to Phu Tho Province for its support in hosting the tournament, as well as to the large number of fans who attended Viet Tri Stadium to cheer on the Vietnam U23 team.

In the letter, on behalf of VFF, President Tran Quoc Tuan conveyed his best wishes for health, happiness, and success to the leaders of Phu Tho Province. He also expressed hope for continued partnership from the province in future major football events. The success of the Group C – AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium once again underscored the close cooperation and effective coordination between VFF, Phu Tho Province, and relevant local authorities, helping to lay a solid foundation for Vietnamese football to pursue new goals.

The tournament took place from September 3 to 9 at Viet Tri Stadium, featuring four men’s teams: U23 Vietnam, U23 Yemen, U23 Singapore, and U23 Bangladesh. At the conclusion of the competition, host team U23 Vietnam won all three matches to top Group C with a perfect 9 points, thereby officially qualifying for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Finals in Saudi Arabia.

The Group C – AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers were successfully held in many aspects, attracting widespread attention and enthusiastic support from fans nationwide as well as international audiences.
