At the end of the 2024 National Pencak Silat Championship held at the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Sports Center, the Phu Tho Pencak Silat Team with 12 athletes won 5 medals of all kinds, finishing in 7th place out of 28 participating delegations.

This year’s National Pencak Silat Championship took place from October 10 to October 20, with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 28 provinces, cities, and sectors across the country. The athletes competed in 31 events of men’s and women’s individual combat and performance in many different weight categories. Of which, Pencak Silat Phu Tho has 12 male and female athletes, participating in the competition in a number of weight categories, including: 45 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg, 60 kg, 70 kg...

At the end of the tournament, the athletes of Pencak Silat Phu Tho won 5 medals of all kinds, including 2 gold medals for athlete Trinh Van Duong in the men’s 55kg category and Bui Van Thong in the men’s 60kg category; 2 silver medals for athlete Do Thi Huong Mo in the women’s 50kg category and Dinh Tien Cuu in the men’s 70kg category. The remaining bronze medal belongs to Nguyen Duc Hau in the men’s 45kg category.
This year’s tournament has a very high professional quality when gathering the top Pencak Silat athletes from all over the country to participate, creating exciting and attractive competitions. This is also an opportunity for Pencak Silat of Phu Tho athletes to demonstrate their professional skills; continue to strive to be part of the national team to participate in the World Pencak Silat Championship taking place in the United Arab Emirates in the near future or further, the 2025 SEA Games held in Thailand.
