Viet Tri City won the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Television Cup - VNPT Youth and Children Football Tournament

On the morning of December 1, at the Provincial Sports Complex, the final and third-place matches took place, along with the award ceremony for the teams with high achievements in the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Television Cup - VNPT Youth and Children Football Tournament. Attending were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Committee; leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province.

Viet Tri City Youth crowned Champion of Phu Tho Provincial Television Cup - VNPT Youth and Children Football Tournament 2024.

After 16 days of exciting competition from November 16 to December 1, 198 athletes from 15 youth and children teams from 13 districts, cities, and towns in the province brought to the tournament many attractive matches with high professional quality. In the children’s age group, Viet Tri City had an excellent day of competition with a 2-0 victory over Lam Thao District to successfully defend the Provincial Television Cup Championship. In the early match, Tam Nong District won third place after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Phu Ninh District.

The final match of the children’s age group between Viet Tri City (blue shirt) and Lam Thao District was exciting and attractive.

In the Youth category, Viet Tri City was crowned Champion after a modest 1-0 victory over Tan Son District with the only goal scored by Minh Hieu in the 20th minute. In the previous Third Place match, Phu Tho Town Youth had a dramatic 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout against Lam Thao District after the two teams drew 2-2 in regular time.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the Championship Flag and Cup to Viet Tri City Youth and Children; the Second Prize to Tan Son Youth and Lam Thao Children; the Third Prize to Phu Tho Town Youth and Tam Nong Children; and the Encouragement Prize to Lam Thao Youth and Phu Ninh Children. In addition, the Player with the Most Goals was awarded to Nguyen Duy Anh - Lam Thao District Youth, Le Ngoc Tuan - Phu Tho Town Youth, and Phung Duc Anh - Viet Tri City Children. The title of Best Goalkeeper belongs to the players: Dinh Van An - Tan Son District Youth and Le Duc An - Viet Tri City Children.

The final match of the youth age group between Viet Tri City and Tan Son District attracted the attention and cheering of many fans.

The Phu Tho Province Youth and Children Football Tournament, held annually, has become a healthy playground for students across the province to exchange, learn, and improve their professional skills. Through the tournament, not only does it help coaches select more outstanding faces for Phu Tho’s talented football groups, but it also contributes to promoting the football practice movement to spread widely in the school environment and effectively implement the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho.".
