On May 28, a working delegation of Vietnam Social Insurance, led by comrade Tran Dinh Lieu - Member of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security, met with the Committee Steering Committee for implementing social insurance and health insurance policies in Phu Tho province to review and evaluate the province’s implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies.

Currently, 100% of the province’s districts and communes have formed Steering Committees to execute social and health insurance programs. Members of the Steering Committee have consistently worked closely together to establish and organize local social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance regimes and policies. By the end of 2023, the province’s overall social insurance participation rate will be 250,942, accounting for 33.1% of the working-age population. The entire province has 2,351,236 medical examinations and treatment visits; health insurance medical examination and treatment charges proposed to be reimbursed by medical facilities total more than 2,000 billion VND. The VssID digital social insurance application has been used by 531,779 persons to obtain social and health insurance coverage. The total number of dossiers for monthly social insurance, one-time social insurance payments, and short-term benefits is over 26,500 at the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Ho Dai Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, said that Phu Tho province now has a comprehensive Steering Committee in place to execute social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies at the provincial, district, and commune levels. The Steering Committee establishes operational norms and assigns particular responsibilities to each member. Steering Committees at all levels have consistently worked closely together to create and organize social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance regimes and policies throughout the region. As a result, by 2023, the objectives for developing social insurance and health insurance participants will be mostly met. The health insurance money is meticulously maintained and appropriately utilized. The quality of medical examination and treatment services has increased, as have the procedures for registering for and paying social security and unemployment insurance payments.
The Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Insurance Tran Dinh Lieu underlined that in the near future, the Steering Committee, agencies, units, and municipalities must actively cooperate and synchronously execute solutions to develop subjects and effectively implement legal policies on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance. Strictly adhere to Vietnam Social Insurance legislation and revenue management practices. Employers and workers get monthly information and notifications about social insurance payment outcomes. Promote administrative procedure reform; Resolve employee social insurance plans completely and swiftly. Strictly manage social insurance beneficiaries. Implement methods to prevent and manage money misuse. Direct medical facilities in the province to completely comply with the government’s and the Ministry of Health’s requirements on medical examinations and treatment for health insurance cards. The Steering Committee, agencies, units, and municipalities must actively support and coordinate the implementation of legal policies on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc.
