As part of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Cultural Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2025, the Viet Tri Open Rowing Tournament 2025 took place on the morning of April 6 at Van Lang Park Lake (Viet Tri City).
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phung Khanh Tai and Secretary of the Viet Tri City Party Committee Duong Hoang Huong presented the Cup and First Prize to the rowing team of Bach Hac Ward.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang and other provincial leaders attended the event.

The 2025 Viet Tri Open Rowing Tournament featured 270 athletes from 9 rowing teams. Viet Tri City was represented by 5 teams (Bach Hac, Duu Lau wards; Song Lo, Phuong Lau, Trung Vuong communes), while 4 teams from the districts of Thanh Thuy, Cam Khe, Tam Nong, and Doan Hung also participated.
Viet Tri City Party Secretary Duong Hoang Huong and leaders of the Viet Tri City People’s Committee presented souvenir flags and flowers to the rowing teams.
The rowing teams completed a 2.6km course. After the knockout round, the organizing committee selected 4 teams based on finishing times—3 teams that finished first in their group and 1 team with the best second place—to compete in the final. In the final, the 4 teams competed in a single round to determine the top three positions.
The provincial leaders and Viet Tri City leaders awarded the Second Prize to the rowing team of Doan Hung District.
After an intense competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the rowing team of Bach Hac Ward (Viet Tri City), the Second Prize to the rowing team of Doan Hung District, and the Third Prize to the rowing teams of Cam Khe and Tam Nong Districts. The Encouragement Prize went to the Thanh Thuy District Rowing Team and four teams from Viet Tri City, including Phuong Lau, Song Lo, Duu Lau, and Trung Vuong.

The Viet Tri Open Rowing Tournament is an annual event held during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Culture and Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land to preserve and honor the unique cultural value of rowing as an art. This collective sport provides athletes with numerous opportunities to exchange experiences, strengthen solidarity, and lay the foundation for expanding the event to become a National Professional Rowing Competition in the near future.

This tournament is also one of the major attractions for tourists attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day. The Viet Tri Open Rowing Tournament has added a vibrant layer to the Hung King Temple Festival 2025, affirming the cultural values that are meaningful to the community and will endure over time.
