Determining that in the trend of global integration, strengthening international cooperation is the door to opening opportunities for training high-quality human resources; therefore, in recent years, Hung Vuong University has actively promoted cooperation with training institutions, research institutes, and domestic and foreign enterprises to cooperate in training and scientific research and expand job opportunities for students after graduation.
Hung Vuong University received and worked with the delegation of Hwaseong City Council (RoK).
To improve the effectiveness of international cooperation, Hung Vuong University regularly updates policies and guidelines through resolutions and conclusions from Party conferences to apply appropriately to the conditions of the university, focusing on building and implementing international cooperation activities in line with the general development strategy of the university in each period, regularly updating the training program, and at the same time perfecting the conditions for training cooperation. As of July 2024, the school has maintained and expanded cooperation with 33 foreign partners. Of which, it has signed memoranda of understanding with 27 partners from the world’s leading educational systems, such as the US, Germany, France, Denmark, Korea, Japan, and regions such as China, Thailand, and the Philippines. The memoranda of understanding focus on the following contents: exchange of students and lecturers; cooperation in scientific research; support for training programs; support for internships and vocational training.
Specifically, implementing the educational cooperation program between Phu Tho province and some northern Lao provinces, Hung Vuong University has been assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee to train human resources with university and master’s degrees for the northern Lao provinces since 2008. In 2023, for the first time, the university was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to train Lao international students under the agreement.
During the period 2016-22023, the university enrolled 263 Lao international students, including 256 university students and 7 graduate students, participating in training in the following majors: pedagogy, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, economics, culture-tourism, engineering-technology, foreign languages, health, and Vietnamese language resources.
There have been 166 Lao international students who have graduated and returned to work in Vietnam, of which 159 have graduated from university and 7 have graduated from master’s degrees. After graduating, Lao students have basically found stable jobs and have developed their professional skills in their careers. Thereby, they have actively contributed to the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Lao PDR.
In addition, the school has cooperated in student exchanges with Hong Ha Academy and Nanning University of Education (China), with a total of 434 students participating in student exchange programs. The student exchange program of Hung Vuong University studying at Hong Ha Academy has been implemented since 2009, and Nanning University of Education has been implemented since 2015.
Chinese partner schools accept Chinese language majors from Hung Vuong University to study and practice specialized subjects. The subjects will be recognized after the students complete the program.
Cadres of Luong Nam Tha province (Laos) studying Vietnamese at Hung Vuong University gain practical experience in Phu Tho province.
The school has cooperated with the Korea Foundation to establish the Korean Cultural Space with a total value of 15 thousand USD; cooperated with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Regional English Office (US Embassy in Vietnam), and the Center for Language Exchange Cooperation between China and Foreign Countries in sending and receiving volunteers to work at the school.
In addition, the school has connected and signed memoranda of understanding with international partners: AICAT Agricultural Center, Ramat Negev Agricultural Center (Israel), Kien Hanh University (Taiwan, China), and Bixter Company (Denmark) to implement cooperation programs with partners to send a total of 130 students of the school to practice and study abroad, mainly students of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.
The school cooperates with Korean universities: Busan, Kookje, Kyungsung, Chungwoon, and Konkuk; the Asia Pacific Association (PAS); in collaboration with PAS, the school organized 4 direct and online cultural exchanges for students and sent 3 English language students to do internships at Konkuk University. Dr. Tran Dinh Chien, Vice President of Hung Vuong University, affirmed: “International cooperation programs and activities have been effective in encouraging lecturers and students to participate in international networks, with many opportunities to work, exchange academic knowledge, research, and study with foreign experts.”.
From the achieved results, the task set by Hung Vuong University in the coming time is to continue to promote cooperation activities with prestigious organizations and universities in the world in education and training, scientific research, and strengthen the building of staff, lecturers, and students to ensure the implementation of international cooperation tasks. Establish a research group with the ability to access strong research directions to be able to cooperate in scientific research with foreign experts.
Continue to send young lecturers and students to study abroad in fields that are suitable for the development orientation of the school. Focus on building joint research cooperation programs through topics and projects; increase joint scientific publications, especially international publications, from the results of research cooperation... Thereby, continuously improve the quality of training, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of the school in the new period.
