Thousands of people bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
On July 25 and 26, thousands of people were present at the National Funeral House (No. 5, Tran Thanh Tong) and on the streets of Hanoi to pay their respects, burn incense in memory, and bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at his final resting place at Mai Dich Cemetery.
At 5:00 a.m. on July 26, people from all over the streets lined up around the National Funeral House. Their only wish was to pay their respects to the leader, whom the people greatly respected.
People dressed solemnly, lined up neatly, following the instructions of the authorities to prepare their ID cards with chips or phones with level 2 electronic identification applications installed.
At 11:00 a.m., 2 hours before the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, many people were waiting on both sides of the streets where the funeral procession would pass.
Children dressed neatly and obediently waited under the hot sun.
A veteran from Minh Hoa commune, Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province, accepted to give free motorbike taxi rides to people from all over to visit General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
