Viet Tri: In the first 6 months of the year, budget revenue reached over VND531 billion

On July 8, the 21st term of Viet Tri City People’s Council, 2021-2026, held its 8th session. Mr. Nguyen Manh Son, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Viet Tri City People’s Council, chaired the session.

In the first 6 months of the year, the city’s leadership and direction had many innovations, promoting internal strength and the spirit of solidarity and unity, contributing to the stable development of the socio-economic situation. The total state budget revenue in the area implemented by the city was over VND531 billion, and the city-level budget expenditure, according to the People’s Council’s estimate, was VND553 billion. Infrastructure projects were implemented synchronously; urban embellishment and environmental sanitation were strengthened; the quality of education and training, health care, and culture was always maintained and improved; social security and welfare were ensured; and social order and safety were maintained.

Along with focusing on assessing the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of the year, the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, the Session also reviewed regular reports of the Standing Committee of the People’s Council, the City People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the People’s Court, the People’s Procuracy, the City Judgment Enforcement Office; passed the Resolution on the City’s Budget Revenue and Expenditure Settlement in 2023 and the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in Viet Tri City for the period 2023-2025; focused on discussing, explaining, questioning and answering questions on issues of concern to delegates, voters and the People.

Overview of the Session

In his closing speech, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Council Nguyen Manh Son emphasized that 2024 is an important year for deciding the goals and targets set by the Resolution of the 21st City Party Congress and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2026. To achieve the set goals, the city needs to continue to strengthen leadership, direction, review, and focus on implementing key tasks; effectively implement the project on building a civilized and modern urban area in the city for the period 2021-2025; the environmental protection project for the period 2020-2025; the plan for developing the city’s service sectors for the period 2021-2025; and the tourism development plan for the period 2021-2025. He requested to speed up the announcement of the city’s master plan for 2040, strengthen inspection and prevention of budget losses from e-commerce activities, real estate transfers, and individual business, and maintain the task of ensuring political security, social order, and safety in the area.

At the same time, it is proposed that after this session, the City People’s Committee direct departments, offices, and units to urgently develop programs, plans, and effectively implement the resolutions issued by the City People’s Council, promote propaganda work, and create consensus among the people and businesses to join hands to effectively implement the proposed resolutions.
