Viettel Phu Tho Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Establishment

On November 18, Viettel Phu Tho, a subsidiary of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary (November 20, 2004 - November 20, 2024).

Viettel Phu Tho was established and began operations on November 20, 2004. With the resilience of the soldiers, Viettel Phu Tho accelerated the construction of mobile signal towers in rural areas, resulting in impressive growth in production and business. After just one year of operation, the number of BTS stations increased ninefold, from 3 to 28, and the number of mobile subscribers rose from 100 to over 16,000. Today, Viettel Phu Tho has made a significant transition to becoming a digital service provider, pioneering the deployment of 3G network coverage in 2010, followed by 4G in 2017, and in October 2024, it became the first provider in the province to offer 5G services.

In 2024, Viettel Phu Tho continues its impressive growth trajectory, having built over 1,500 BTS stations and developed more than 1 million customers. It is the largest network provider in Phu Tho province, holding a 45% share of the Internet market and an 80% share of the mobile market. Additionally, it has the highest mobile market share in the province across the entire Viettel network. The revenue is expected to exceed 1,265 billion VND, creating jobs for more than 1,000 employees.

At the ceremony, Mr. Phung Khanh Tai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented a fresh flower bouquet and a banner from the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to Viettel Phu Tho, with the inscription: “Viettel Phu Tho 20 Years - Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Development.”

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, awarded the Provincial People’s Committee’s Flag of Merit to one collective and presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to 20 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Viettel Phu Tho’s establishment (2004-2024).

At the same ceremony, the Viettel Phu Tho collective and many individuals also received Flags of Merit, Certificates of Merit, and Certificates of Appreciation from the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group for their exceptional achievements during the 2014-2024 period, contributing to the growth and development of the unit and the Group, and playing a role in the national defense and construction.
