On April 20, a delegation of expatriate Vietnamese, led by Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, paid homage to the Hung Kings by offering incense at the Hung King Temple Historical Relic Site.

More than 60 outstanding overseas Vietnamese representing the Vietnamese community from 21 countries and territories throughout the world, offered incense, flowers to the Hung Kings at Kinh Thien Palace on top of Nghia Linh mountain, expressed respect and thanks to the merit of the predecessors, as well as the nation’s moral value of “When drinking water, remember its source”. In front of the soul of the Hung Kings and the predecessors who created the country, the overseas Vietnamese vowed to work together to develop and safeguard the Fatherland as well as contribute to the progress of the Vietnamese community and nation.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai addressed at the welcoming.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee wished the delegation members health, happiness and prosperity. He underlined that since being acknowledged by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of mankind, the Hung Kings worshiping belief has progressively confirmed the great vitality of the philosophy “towards the origins”, becoming a symbol of national unity and a spiritual gathering place for the Vietnamese people. Promoting the heritage of tremendous national solidarity, Phu Tho province has always considered the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable component of Vietnamese nation; being one of the most significant resources contributing to the country’s reinovation cause. At the same time, Phu Tho hope that Vietnamese expatriates living overseas would continue to foster the spirit of solidarity and pay greater attention to working together to build a more developed motherland.

On behalf of the expatriate Vietnamese delegation, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang expressed gratitude to the authorities of Phu Tho province for this warm welcome; At the same time, expressed the expectation of Phu Tho province’s coordination with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in continueing organizing overseas Vietnamese to attend the Hung King’s Death Anniversary - Hung King Temple Festival in the coming years, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of Vietnamese expatriates.

Then, the delegation paid a working visit to Tan Son district; presented gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Long Coc commune and enjoyed the cultural beauty and traditions of local people.
