Hwaseong City (RoK)’s delegation pays a working visit to Phu Tho

On December 27, a working delegation from Hwaseong, Korea, led by Mr. Park Tae-Kyung, Head of the Department of Industry and People’s Economy, visited and collaborated with the province. Comrade Phan Trong Tan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and leaders of a number of ministries and branches of the province welcomed and worked with the delegation.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Trong Tan expressed his delight in receiving the Hwaseong city working delegation and emphasized: Two Memorandums of Understanding on cooperation signed in 2005 and 2012 have served as the foundation for Phu Tho province and Hwaseong city’s ongoing efforts to build and develop cooperative relationships in the fields of economic development, culture, education, health, and the environment; exchange high-level delegations; and provide support staff training. In recent years, the number of investment projects in Phu Tho province, particularly Korean investment projects, has grown in terms of quantity, investment capital, and production scale. Approximately 130 Korean firms are now functioning in Phu Tho, accounting for more than 80% of FDI enterprises. Korean firms' operations have produced jobs and reliable income for tens of thousands of people, accounting for more than 85% of FDI enterprise budget revenue. As a result, Phu Tho province’s potential for collaboration in delivering high-quality labor resources, particularly seasonal labor - a problem that Hwaseong city is worried about - is confirmed. He believes that the two sides would debate and agree on topics such as labor themes, recruiting needs, living circumstances, and support policies for Phu Tho province and Korean workers..., resulting in fruitful collaboration.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Park Tae-Kyung, Head of Hwaseong City’s People’s Economy and Industry Department, expressed gratitude for Phu Tho province’s warm and considerate welcome to the delegation, and affirmed: Implementing the Under the leadership of Hwaseong city authorities, the city’s units are encouraging the execution of cooperation initiatives with Phu Tho province in a variety of disciplines. The first phase will be a seasonal work program in the agriculture industry. In the future, Hwaseong City will request to the Korean government that foreign workers be allowed to work in the industrial sector. The delegation will meet directly with provincial specialist units to continue to propose long-term and successful collaboration plans in the coming months, while also looking for chances to extend cooperation in other areas.

During the working program, the Hwaseong city delegation visited Phu Tho College of Technology and Agriculture and Forestry, Phu Tho Vocational College, and met with provincial agencies and units to discuss the upcoming Memorandum of Understanding “Seasonal labor program” between Hwaseong city and Phu Tho province.
