Inaugurate Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway

For the first time, the Ministry of Transport collaborated with the People’s Committees of the provinces of Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, and Dong Thap, as well as the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises, to conduct the inauguration event on December 24. online connecting four bridge points, including four significant transportation projects, including the Dien Bien Airport extension project, the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway project, the My Thuan - Can Tho highway Poetry phase 1 project, and the My Thuan Bridge 2 project.

Attending were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the State Steering Committee for important national works and projects, key transport sectors, along with leaders of the Party, State, leaders of Central ministries, committees and branches.

Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway, with a total length of 40.2km (11.3km in Tuyen Quang province and 28.9km in Phu Tho province), is a public investment. Total investment of 3,753 billion VND; 4 lanes; operating speed of 90 km/h. The project begins in Tuyen Quang city and ends at the IC9 intersection of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway in Phu Tho province.

The Tuyen Quang Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board will be the project’s investor, and construction will begin in 2021. This is a significant national initiative as well as the first high-rise building in Tuyen Quang province.

​The Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho highway project, which connects with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, has been formally finished, opening up new development area, reducing the burden on National Highway 2 and shortening travel time from Tuyen Quang to Hanoi. When the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway is completed, it will create a highway connecting Hanoi with Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang, paving the way for socioeconomic development and ensuring national security. It will also promote tourism development in Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, and Ha Giang provinces, as well as the Northern midland and mountainous areas.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed: Today’s first event simultaneously inaugurating 4 key transportation projects with a total investment of nearly 18 trillion VND is meaningful. important history for the socio-economic development of the whole country.

The Prime Minister recommended that the Ministry of Transport and local governments continue to collaborate in the future to complete auxiliary items and effectively exploit works and projects. Execute payment and settlement procedures to ensure openness, transparency, and anti-negativity; repair and maintain the project on a regular basis; Restore raw material extraction sites to ensure environmental criteria are met.

The Prime Minister hopes that the projects will open up space for development, serving as a lever to promote the development of localities in the coming time.
