Opening Ceremony of the First Phu Tho Open Taekwondo Championship
On August 18, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Hall hosted the opening ceremony of the First Phu Tho Open Taekwondo Championship, the Hung Vuong Cup.
Nearly 500 athletes from Taekwondo clubs in the province and several northern provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Bac Ninh, Thai Binh, and Son La, participated in the event. The athletes competed in individual and team forms (both male and female), as well as sparring in various weight categories across three age groups: primary, secondary, and high school, aiming for 199 sets of medals.
The Phu Tho Open Taekwondo Championship is expected to become an annual event for Taekwondo enthusiasts in the homeland of the Hung Kings. It provides an opportunity for athletes to exchange experiences, enhance their skills, and improve their performance against competitors from strong Taekwondo clubs nationwide. The event also contributes to promoting Taekwondo practice across the province and supports the movement "All People Practice Physical Exercise Following the Example of President Ho Chi Minh."
