Opening of the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Defense Zone Exercise

On October 16, Military Region 2 and the Phu Tho Provincial Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee in 2024 held the opening of the three-level unilateral provincial exercise with the theme: "Moving armed forces into combat readiness states; moving localities into defense states; organizing preparations and practicing defensive operations.".

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong delivered the opening speech of the exercise.

The conference on implementing measures to move localities into national defense states was chaired by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang.

The Phu Tho Provincial Defense Zone Exercise will take place from October 16-17 with the participation of Phu Ninh district and Phong Chau town. This is a large-scale exercise, with the participation of thousands of people and means of supplies and techniques.

The purpose of the Phu Tho Provincial Defense Zone Exercise in 2024 is to continue to innovate the content and methods of directing defense zone exercises at all levels while improving the leadership capacity of party organizations, the effectiveness of state management and administration of defense and security, and promoting the advisory role of departments, branches, sectors, unions, and sociopolitical organizations of the province in building and operating defense zones.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong, Commander of Military Region 2, Head of the Military Region’s Exercise Steering Committee, requested the components and forces participating in the exercise to uphold their sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, build determination, solidarity, and unity, and successfully carry out the assigned tasks.

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong, Commander of Military Region 2, Head of the Military Region’s Exercise Steering Committee, commented that the A2 situation handling exercise of the Provincial Police had been excellently completed.

Each role and each department, branch, and organization need to proactively coordinate, cooperate, closely and meticulously inspect, and carefully prepare the contents before carrying out the exercise contents. Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong requested the components participating in the exercise to study and grasp the Party’s viewpoints, guidelines, and strategies on national defense and security in the new situation, combining the theory of operations with the characteristics and actual conditions of the locality to apply to solving situations assumed by the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee, and ensuring adherence to principles and suitability to the reality of Phu Tho province.
