Phu Tho is in the group of provinces with high economic growth in the country

On June 4, Mr. Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the Provincial People’s Committee Conference to review and discuss a number of contents: Report on evaluation of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months of the year, directions and tasks in the last 6 months of 2024; Report on the implementation of budget estimates for the first 6 months of the year, directions and tasks for the last 6 months of the year and many other important contents.

In the face of many difficulties and challenges, the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year in the province continued to have positive changes and achieved important results, basically accomplishing the overall goal set and seeing remarkable improvements in some areas. Economic growth continued to be maintained, and increased after each quarter (the first quarter increased by 6.67%, the second quarter increased by 9.57%, Phu Tho is in the group of provinces with a high growth compared to the whole country in general and the Northern Midlands and Mountains region in particular).

Administrative reform and digital transformation continue to be promoted, creating a favorable and transparent investment and business environment for people and businesses to access and resolve administrative procedures. The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), Public Administrative Reform Index (PAR INDEX) have high rankings; in particular: PCI reached 69.1 points (up 2.8 points compared to 2022), for the first time ranked 10/63 provinces (up 14 places), 2/14 regions (up 2 places), in the group of 10 localities with the best governance quality in 2023; PAR INDEX index reached 89.19 points (up 2.59 points), ranked 9/63 in the country (up 9 places), 4/14 regions (up 2 places). The indexes of Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) maintained their rankings.

Regarding the direction of tasks for the last 6 months of the year, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang requested all levels, branches and localities to review, evaluate and focus on analyzing the achieved results as well as limitations. From there, propose solutions to complete the set targets. Continue to improve the effectiveness of direction and administration; Direct the drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of Directives and Resolutions of the Central Party Committee and the Provincial Party Committee on strongly improving the business investment environment. Continue to mobilize capital sources for development investment, speed up the completion of key projects; Promote disbursement of public investment capital, administrative reform, and digital transformation. At the same time, perform well cultural and social activities; ensure national defense, security, social order and safety.

Giving guidance on the overall project to arrange administrative units at district and commune levels in the province for the period 2023 - 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee agreed that in the period 2023 - 2025, Phu Tho will implement the arrangement of 56 Commune-level administrative units that belong to 5 district-level administrative units. For 4 district-level units, Thanh Thuy, Tam Nong, Lam Thao and Phu Ninh, commune-level administrative unit arrangements have not yet been implemented in the period 2023 - 2025.

Agreeing with the draft report on the establishment of Tan Phu town, Tan Son district, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed: The establishment of Tan Phu town is in accordance with the urban development program and general planning of the province and district, which was approved by competent authorities.
