On May 13, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) officially announced that Vietnam will host the 2025 AFF Women’s Championship, scheduled to take place from August 6 to August 19.
The tournament will feature national women’s football teams from eight AFF member countries. According to the format, teams will be divided into two groups in the official draw on June 9. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals.
Viet Tri and Hai Phong have been selected as the host cities. Notably, Viet Tri Stadium will be the venue for the semi-finals, third-place playoff, and the final—highlighting its growing reputation as a key destination for major football events in Vietnam.
Viet Tri Stadium has successfully hosted numerous matches across all levels of the Vietnamese national football program in recent years.
Speaking about the event, Tran Quoc Tuan, president of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), shared, “Hosting the 2025 AFF Women’s Championship is a tremendous honor for Vietnam. It reflects the impressive progress of women’s football, not only in Vietnam but across Southeast Asia. This is both a recognition of our long-standing commitment and a responsibility we proudly embrace.”
