On March 6, a delegation of leaders from Ha Giang province, led by Mr. Hau A Lenh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, paid a working visit to Phu Tho province. Mr. Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, and Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People’s Committee, attended the delegation.

Expressing his pleasure at visiting Phu Tho in the early days of spring, Secretary Hau A Lenh affirmed the close relationship between Ha Giang and Phu Tho within the northern mountainous region. Over the years, the two provinces have maintained strong ties, regularly supporting and assisting each other in development efforts. He expressed his admiration for Phu Tho’s comprehensive progress in socio-economic development, national defense, security, infrastructure, and improving living standards.
During the meeting, Secretary Bui Minh Chau provided an overview of Phu Tho’s socio-economic achievements.

As a border province with a significant ethnic minority population and economic challenges, Ha Giang hopes to learn from Phu Tho’s experiences in economic development, land clearance for key infrastructure projects, leveraging regional advantages, and promoting tourism investment. On behalf of Ha Giang province, Comrade Hau A Lenh extended New Year wishes to the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Tho, hoping for continued success in 2025 and beyond.

In response, Secretary Bui Minh Chau highlighted Phu Tho’s impressive socio-economic performance in 2024. Despite challenges, the province successfully met and exceeded all 17 key socio-economic targets, achieving a growth rate of 9.53%-the highest in the past 15 years and among the top in the country and the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. Phu Tho’s economic scale reached VND 109.2 trillion, ranking third among 14 provinces in the region. Cultural and social development remained stable, while the quality of life improved. Political security and social order were well-maintained, and party-building efforts continued to be innovated and strengthened.
Secretary Chau emphasized that as the ancestral land of Vietnam, Phu Tho prioritizes economic development while preserving traditional cultural values. He expressed hope that the two provinces would continue to exchange experiences in governance, socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, national defense, and party-building. He wished Ha Giang’s Party Committee, government, and people continued success in the new year.
Before the meeting, the Ha Giang delegation visited the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, where they offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings and pay tribute at the Temple of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan.
