Phu Ninh District Receives Second-Class Labor Medal and Meets to Celebrate 25 Years of District Re-Establishment

On August 23, Phu Ninh District held a reception for the Second-Class Labor Medal and a meeting to celebrate 25 years of district re-establishment.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang, presented the Second-Class Labor Medal of the President and a banner of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee to the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Ninh District.

After 22 years of merging with Lam Thao district to form Phong Chau district, on September 1, 1999, Phu Ninh district was re-established and put into operation. Over the past 25 years, the Party Committee, government, and people of all walks of life in the district have always joined hands and united, creating proud achievements.

From a district with a low economic starting point, up to now, the appearance and economic potential of Phu Ninh have had many positive changes, gradually affirming its position in the dynamic economic region of the province and contributing significantly to the process of industrialization, modernization of the country, and international integration. The economy maintains a high growth rate; all economic sectors have had positive developments; the total budget revenue in the area in 2023 increased nearly 60 times compared to the time of re-establishment of the district; and economic and social infrastructure has received increasingly synchronous investment, especially traffic and urban and rural infrastructure.

Along with more than 500 operating enterprises, creating jobs for over 14,000 workers, the district has formed 3 industrial clusters, attracting 44 enterprises to invest and produce. Agricultural models are developed according to the value chain from production to product consumption, bringing high economic efficiency. Actively implementing the One Community, One Product (OCOP) Program, the district currently has 4 products meeting 4-star OCOP standards, 14 products, and 1 group of products meeting 3-star OCOP standards.

16/16 communes in the district are recognized as meeting NTM standards, of which 2 communes are recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards; 60/61 schools meet national standards; 100% of communes and towns meet national health standards by 2030. Currently, the poverty rate of the district is 1.44%, down more than 16% compared to the first year of re-establishment. The political system has been continuously improved, consolidated, and strengthened in all aspects; local defense has been strengthened, and social order and safety have been maintained.

Ms. Nguyen Thi To Uyen, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Chairman of the Phu Ninh District People’s Council, read a speech commemorating the 25th anniversary of the district’s re-establishment.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang, praised the results achieved by the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Ninh district after 25 years of re-establishment. Promoting the results and lessons learned, he requested the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Ninh district to continue to strive, overcome shortcomings and limitations, and successfully carry out the tasks of 2024 and the 2020-2025 term.

Overview of the meeting

Specifically, it is necessary to continue to carry out well the work of party building, building a clean and strong political system; effectively implement the breakthrough to promote administrative reform; improve the quality of cadres, civil servants, and public employees; and prepare all conditions well to successfully lead and direct the grassroots Party Congress and the 30th District Party Congress.

More effectively exploit potentials, strengths, and resources to promote economic development. Continue to improve the investment and business environment; focus on solving and removing “bottlenecks” in site clearance for projects, creating new space and development momentum according to the Provincial Planning, Phu Ninh District Construction Planning to 2035, with a vision to 2050. In particular, it is necessary to focus on developing industrial parks and clusters according to the planning, ensuring the general orientation of the “dynamic industrial” area of the province, promoting and improving the quality of the trade and service system; developing the agricultural economy; and improving the quality and competitiveness of OCOP products; actively building advanced new rural communes, striving for Phu Ninh district to be recognized as a new rural district by 2025.

Along with that, the district needs to continue to pay attention to preserving and effectively promoting the value of cultural heritage and historical relics in the area in conjunction with tourism development. Promote socialization in the fields of culture, sports, health, and education. Improve the quality of comprehensive education and training and create conditions for the development of non-public educational institutions. Improve the quality of health care for the people. Focus on ensuring social security; protect the natural environment and living environment.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also requested departments, branches, agencies, and localities in the province to continue to pay attention, coordinate, support, and create favorable conditions for Phu Ninh district to effectively implement the set goals and tasks, making positive contributions to the development of Phu Tho province.

Authorized by the President, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to the officials and people of Phu Ninh district; presented the banner of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee with the words “Party Committee, Government, and People of Phu Ninh District 25 years of solidarity, innovation, and development” and a congratulatory flower basket to the Party Committee, Government, and People of Phu Ninh District.
