The Goc Sui bridge in zone 3, Phuong Vien commune (Ha Hoa district), was recently finished and placed into service, much to the delight of the local administration and residents. The Japanese government sponsored the project with non-refundable aid through the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, with a total commitment of 10 million Japanese yen, or around VND1.9 billion.

After the flood, locals temporarily rebuilt the badly damaged Goc Sui bridge to let cars to cross, putting people in risk.

Goc Sui bridge, located on a one-of-a-kind road connecting 38 households in area 3 to the center of Phuong Vien commune and neighboring communes such as Yen Ky and Huong Xa, and connecting to national highway No.70B, plays an important role in connecting people’s trade of goods inside and outside the region. The Goc Sui bridge project was damaged as a result of the storm that hit the area during the night of September 26 and morning of September 27, 2020. People’s journey in the area is highly difficult and dangerous, particularly during the rainy season. Every time it rains severely, floodwaters rise, people are unable to cross the bridge and are cut off from the outside world...

Goc Sui Bridge was finished and operational after six months of construction.

Sharing the wishes of the local government and people, the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs directed the locality to prepare documentation for submission to the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. After the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam issued a diplomatic note officially announcing project sponsorship, the Department actively guided the Ha Hoa district People’s Committee in developing documents and submitting them to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval, reception, and project implementation in accordance with current regulations.

The Japanese government supported the project with non-refundable subsidies.

The Goc Sui bridge, which has a length of 9m and a width of 6m, was finished and placed into service after 6 months of construction (from June to November 2023). Nguyen Duc Tho, Chairman of Phuong Vien Committee shared the following information: "The newly constructed Goc Sui Bridge has created favorable conditions for about 800 pupils and nearly 4,000 people to travel back and forth every day, contributing to Promote socio-economic development, improve the material and spiritual life of people in the area, and contribute to gradually upgrading the infrastructure network of Phuong Vien commune and Ha Hoa district in general."
