On January 10, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and delegates visited the province to present Tet gifts to families with meritorious services, the poor, workers, and disadvantaged children in celebration of Lunar New Year 2025.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phung Khanh Tai presented gifts to children in difficult circumstances.
Reporting to the working delegation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc reported that Phu Tho province has over 256,000 people recognized for their meritorious services over the years, over 18,000 martyrs, over 900 veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-uprising cadres, over 22,000 wounded and sick soldiers, over 10,000 resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals, over 150,000 resistance fighters, and 1,221 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who have been awarded and posthumously awarded; currently in the province there are still 30 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers being cared for. The whole province currently has about 67,000 beneficiaries of monthly social protection, including over 3,000 children in especially difficult circumstances.

As the New Year of 2025 approaches, the province has directed all levels and sectors to implement measures to ensure a joyful, warm, safe, and economical Tet celebration, promote the tradition of “mutual love,” and step up the implementation of poverty reduction programs and eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In particular, special attention is paid to caring for the material and spiritual lives of the people, fully and promptly inspecting and reviewing the payment of regimes and policies for policy families, poor households, people in difficult circumstances, people in remote areas, extremely difficult areas, ethnic minority areas, workers, and laborers in industrial parks and clusters to ensure the right subjects and the right regimes.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated the dynamism, creativity, solidarity, and unity of the Party Committee, government, and people of Phu Tho province in socio-economic development. The Vice President commended the province’s outstanding achievements, such as the province’s socio-economic situation, national defense, and security continued to be stable and developed; the economy continuously maintained a fairly high growth rate compared to the whole country; and GRDP economic growth was higher than the national average among the provinces with high growth rates. People’s lives were constantly improved and enhanced; the poverty rate decreased to 3.72%, and the near-poor rate was 3.08%...
